I don't mean to take anything away from Wikipedia, but I think the real reason that the wikipedia has become so popular is just because it's so much fun to say wikipedia. I spent ten minutes with my three year old two days ago just trying to get him to say wikipedia. He kept saying wikipeople, which is not nearly as fun to say as wikipedia (but is a good idea for the title of a Stephen King book... The Wikipeople).
You can't go wrong with the name wikipedia. Interestingly, I actually don't have any special fondness for the word wiki, but i love saying wikipedia. Put it this way, would you rather walk down the street mumbling "wikipedia" or "encyclopedia"? Right. Other fun words to say are "Fubar" and "cocktail". Fubar.org would be a big hit. Somebody should get right on that.
