For those of you playing the Costolo home game without children of your own, you will wonder how the following exchange could ever possibly take place in a house with rational and responsible adults, and yet, it's pretty much a verbatim exchange.
7 year old: "what's for dessert?"
Me: "No dessert tonight"
7 year old: "why not?"
Me: "Because we don't have any"
7 year old: "I've got some upstairs"
3 year old: "Go get it!"
Me: "what are you talking about? You don't have dessert upstairs"
7 year old: "I do, I have some stored in my room"
3 year old: "get it! get it!"
