      <title>Waking Life</title>

      <description>I watched this movie in two sittings, both times in the wee hours in the morning when I couldn&apos;t sleep. Kind of ironic for a movie that examines the dream-state and its relationship to reality. This was a facinating movie on many levels. First off, it&apos;s animated, but done in such a creative way -- basically, it&apos;s like someone filmed a movie with a handheld camera and then &quot;painted over&quot; the movie with Photoshop or something. I saw in the credits that someone was listed for &quot;animation software&quot;, so maybe it was homegrown. Anyway, it was a really cool way to do it, and it allowed for some embellishments to series of conversations that the main character has. Which is all this movie is, really: a series of conversations, so you probably want to be in the right mood for it (mind-altering chemicals might be helpful here). One more thing: I bet this movie is filled with subliminal images and messages. Just about every time I pause the movie, I saw something interesting in the animation foreground or background.
