I know I watched the original version, but I must have fallen asleep originally because it was all new to me. Quite an amazing movie, the helicopter battle scene is incredible. I'd like to see the documentary "Heart of Darkness". All sorts of big actors looking very young in this version. Apocolypse Now Redux (***1/2)...

I was wondering how historically accurate
the dipictions of the soldiers in particulare, in the OP's. Were there really outposts with no one in command?
Or, was this just Hollywood again. I guess I
wondering if some of the scenes in the movie
are plausible at all.
I must admit, I was riveted by the film.

I have also watched war movies and wandered how big the gap between reality vs movie. Can it accuratley be portrayed though? What will Saddams capture be filmed as? I spoke with a vet who said that Apocolypse Now was the best portrayel that has been made (his opinion). He said that his family finally beleved that he was water skiing in the rivers of Vietnam after the film. He said that "Agent Orange" was dumped out of the aircrafts so thick that the whites of the soldiers eyes were the only thing that wasn't orange on his body. The boats had to be completley hosed off because the orange film was all over and everywhere. The swap/rain forest was completley cinched afterwards. Don't men have COPD and cancer from this chemical?
