Hey Eric,

I usually follow your blog for the tech related topics, but this post hit home. Within the last two weeks we lost both of our golden retrievers to cancer. Darby was 13 and Tucker was 9. Much like Emma, they were beautiful dogs and will be missed greatly. Very sorry to hear about your loss.

Trevor, I'm so sorry for your loss. We also have a 6-year old golden named Ellie, and while she's going to have a hard time adjusting to her buddy being gone, she's been a great comfort to us and kind of gives us something to focus on. I can't imagine the devastation of losing both your friends that quickly. It hurts just thinking about it.

Thank you for your kind words.

Eric, really sorry to hear it. Quite a few years ago we rescued two Airedale Terriers who had lived pretty tough lives. They thrived in our house, and we were crazy about 'em. In the past couple years we've lost both of 'em. Bruno started having constant seizures, and Vladi could no longer walk. It was miserable saying goodbye to them, but we knew we did the right thing.

Rarely does a day go by when I don't think of my dogs. They were my loyal friends, and I miss 'em terribly. I know your pain, and you and your family have my deepest sympathy.
