back to the mac

oh, my fujitsu windows laptop got fried when i plugged an mp3 player into the USB port - so i'm back to my old 800 mhz powerbook G4. i've upgraded this thing to tiger, and man is it slow. i guess even apples can suffer from OS bloat. a lot more beachball than i remember, and my power fan seems to be going 90% of the time. what a nice looking UI, though.

If you've just put Tiger on, the chances are that Spotlight is indexing your disk, hence why it's going to be a little busy for a little while. Check out the Spotlight icon in the top right, see if it's pulsing. Once it's indexed for the first time, you'll find it a lot more snappier.

i've had tiger on this thing since the day tiger came out. it's funny, but my fan only seems to run when safari is open.
