Search Engine Deoptimization?
I met someone a couple weeks ago who worked for an SEO company that specialized in Search Engine Deoptimization. Why on earth would you want your results not to show up first? Well, a few examples are
- your CEO is convicted of a crime
- someone demonstrates how to break your key product with a bic pen
- you are tired of a whiny blogger bashing your products for no reason (think Dell, for instance)
In all those cases, it would be best if the searches for your company didn't turn up those searches first.
Anyway, i just find it fascinating that there is such an amazing cottage industry that has developed around search.

Well, this business could be huge as well. Just think about all the party pictures that are out there on internet. When you are applying for a new job, it would be wisely to get them deoptimized as well.
