Hester gets 100 speed in Madden 08
I've been playing Madden for a long time. Actually, I have version 1 for the PC on my desk at work on 5 1/4" floppy. Never before has a player had a rating of 100 for speed. There have been plenty of 99s, but never a 100. Now they've given it to Devon Hester. I wonder what his "Fumble" rating will be?

Hester does not deserve to have a 100 speed yet he was just a rookie last year and he will have to prove to me that he can do the same thing for him to be that good

Hester very well deserves the 100 speed i mean did you see him last year 6 touch downs with kick of and punt returns and plus he didnt play the whole year at kick returner, he also got a kick return for the first play in the super bowl. i think he deserves it.

Devon hester is awsome and deserves to be at a hundred, he did unbelievable things, like returning a missed field goal.

i dont really think he deserves it. in madden 07 shaun alexander broke the touchdown record for most rushing td's the previous year! was his speed 100?! no it wasnt so i dont really know that hester should be @ 100. (hester was good alright, i just think that he's gonna have to prove himself this year again)

umm what about champ bailey

shaun alexander was slow. He only scored touchdowns by banging in the endzone. Moron

I think devin hester does deserve it, because he was a rookie and he did very very good. i would like to see someone else do it as a rookie. you just cant get lucky six times in a row, it was skill and he had a lot of heart to do it

Hehe... Of course he deserves 100 for speed since it's a speed postition. The only other players on a team that should get consideration are receivers, not backs. I dare you to run the fastest reciever next to the fastest runningback and I assure you the reciever wins everytime. Throw in special teams, and the receivers get a run for there money... BTW... Hester IS doing it again with one, almost three, runback TD's this weekend. Go 23!!!

umm, all you guys ahtin' an sayin that hester shouldn't get 100 speed are idiots. tell me exactly what your opinions of his performance has to do with "how fast a guy can run"? he's is really fast, whether he fumbles a lot or you don't think he's a good player has nothing to do with the mere fact that he is exceptionally fast and no one can catch him when he takes off. I think you need to redirect your hatin' somewhere else.

Ive been watching football 35yrs, and have never seen a returner sooo dominant, he gets by you, and you aint catching him, reminds me of Willie Gault for the Bears, Devon is one of those special players, like Sayers, Peyton, Deon Sanders, etc...

Yeah, he deserves it. Who cares about the fumble rating. Speed. Carrying. Two different things, and one has nothing to do with the other. Sure he was a rookie, sure he has room for improvement; but he is exceptionally fast and has single-handedly changed the way teams deal with Chicago. Not bad for a return guy.
We've already seen Chicago bring him into other aspects of the game and there have been successes and near-misses. He'll only get better as time advances and they find more ways to utilize him.

Hester is the single greatest returner in the history of football and he's only played 2 years. Who cares if Hester was a rookie last year??? Let's now forget that Gayle Sayers career record was broken already if you include Hester's opening kick return in the Superbowl last year fellas.
Mike Vick was never close to being as fast as Hester.
