I've been wondering how nokia would recommend you populate your N70 with quality content, and it appears that the answer is the Preminet Solution, which many have likened to the Qualcomm BREW method of distributing content.
this means if you are providing content through the store to the N70, you will have to go through this process.
Does this mean the N70 will only be sold to operators that also buy Preminet?
i do carry a treo 650 occaisionally when testing software on it...and i get asked a lot "steve, why don't you like the treo? after all, you were the first person i ever knew to carry a palm."
well, the biggest reason is it is just too doggone big. it's thick, it's wide, and it's got that shark fin antenna. the PSP fits better in my pocket and it's much bigger.
second, the thing locks up on me about twice a day. the only way to reset it is by opening the back and using the stylus to reset it. i've been told this can be directly attributed to versamail, which i believe, but it still seems remarkably unstable.
third, the camera sucks. yes it does. compared to the sony e/// 710 or the nokia 6230, the camera sucks.
finally, the palm just isn't multi-tasking enough for me. i've gotten so used to the alt-tab equivalent of the series 60 interface that it just does the job for me. the UIQ interface is a close second, but i can't see myself using anything else.
there it is.
Jon Gales over at MobileTracker has really done a great job of rounding up the handset announcements coming out of 3GSM. I toyed with going over there this year, but the timing didn't make sense for me. hopefully next year in Barca, which is such an awesome city in itself.
Nokia's handsets such as the 6680 continue to be mouth watering but Sony Ericsson has some neat models as well.
anyway, check out Jon's handiwork, if you aren't already. his feed can be found at http://feeds.feedburner.com/Mobiletracker
