Well, it's gone and happened. They're putting sake in martinis now. I hope that this signals the low point, and thus, the turning point in the "flavored martini" trend. I never liked this trend. From the day i laid eyes on my first AppleTini or Chocolatini (i forget which of these silly creations came first), I have been waiting for the fad to pass, only to see it gain momentum....martini menus, martinis with absurdly stuffed olives, and dessert martinis. It has to end somewhere.....doesn't it? Finally, I believe the saketini will bring an end to this unfortunate chapter in the history of a beloved drink. The saketini, of course, is a martini with wine in it. If you are looking to give yourself a hangover of German proportions, go ahead and pour some sweet wine into your vodka martini and drink up. Who thought to themselves "you know what this cocktail needs? Wine!" ? I mean, seriously.
