Shrek 2

It's more of everyone's favorite animated ogre, Shrek. If you liked the first one (and who didn't?), you'll like the second. It's not as fresh as the original (it's a sequel after all), but still packs plenty of laughs. Entertaining, just don't expect anything new.

Kids Say the Darndest Things

Hilarious commentary from a bunch of modern-day 10-13 year olds that are sat in front of some "classic" arcade and console games mostly from the 80s. Having played most of these games "in the day", I can't help feeling both indignant and somewhat abashed.

EGM: Do you feel like you're in the middle of the Star Wars universe?

Everybody: No.

Parker: It feels like we're in some barely 3D universe.

Bobby: Maybe it feels like we're in the Star Wars universe where you can't see that well.

Happy TSO Day!

The four of us that founded FeedBurner have been working together a long time (over 11 years now) across a number of companies, so we've accreted a few traditions over the year.

It was back in Christmas '96 or '97 when we stumbled into the cult of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The look of delight on little Dick's face when we crank the rock opera Christmas tunes on the office stereo is what this season is all about.

As someone on Amazon so eloquently put it, "The music is just so very good,it seems like it would be as if God himself directed this prodution." Amen, brother.

You'll find us later today bleeding from our ears in a vegetative state after our office TSO marathon. Happy TSO day, everyone!

Mystic River

This movie really had the feel of a modern-day Greek tragedy. All of the pieces are set on the board and the viewer is helpless to prevent the inevitable conclusion as each move is made. Very strong acting all around, with intense performances that jump right out of the screen and into your chest.
