I love the SmartFeed function that FeedBurner provides. When I give out my feed address, I know it'll be accessible from any browser, podcatcher, or news aggregator software. So everyone can tune in to the podcast. Much love for FeedBurner!" - Simon and the team at musiccanteen.com, the music download site for independent musicians 2/22/06

CNET Mobile News Reader

FeedBurner announces its partnership with CNET to build the CNET Mobile News Reader, powered by FeedBurner. The CNET Mobile News Reader is a BREW application that delivers the latest headline summaries from popular CNET channels:

  • News.com "Tech News First"
  • Personal Technology
  • GameSpot Game Reviews
  • MySimon Shopping
  • ...and more, more, more!

Here are some zesty cheddar screenshots to satisfy your curiosity:

Popular CNET content channels available on your mobile.

Get just the latest headlines in each channel.

See something you want to read in full? Email it to yourself!

Enter your favorite RSS or Atom feeds. Get their updates too!

As shown above, you can also monitor your favorite syndicated sites, FeedBurner-hosted or otherwise, with CNET Mobile News Reader. The debut version of the application runs on BREW-based handsets and will be available later this fall as the various BREW operators in the US complete application testing on supported handsets. We believe this will be the first commercially available RSS/Atom reader on the BREW platform.

The application will use FeedBurner's SmartFeed™ technology to optimize the feeds for the BREW platform, and FeedBurner will provide feed traffic and usage statistics for CNET.

For existing CNET feed subscribers, this application will be a very efficient and simple way to keep up with CNET's latest news and content. Lightweight, wrinkle-free news feeds are ideal for keeping current while on-the-go, and we're excited to help take mobile syndication mainstream with CNET's popular offerings.
