Blackberry 4.0 now MIDP2 capable

Yesterday Research In Motion announced the release of their BlackBerry Development Environment 4.0 which includes support for MIDP2 applications in addition to the proprietary BlackBerry APIs. I'll be digging into this over the next few days and reporting back.

It will probably be awhile before 4.0 is running on many BlackBerries, but this hopefully will open up the platform to a whole slew of additional applications and games. I imagine a port will still be necessary, as the key configurations are so different on the BlackBerry than most phones; not to mention the scroll wheel.
