TypePad Widgets and FeedBurner

Today, TypePad introduced TypePad Widgets, which is a elegant handshake framework for being able to add things to the sidebar of your TypePad blog. You can test it out at FeedBurner by going to the "Chicklet Chooser" service on the "Publicize" tab of your feed ... make your selection and scroll to the bottom. We're planning on adding this functionality to every place in FeedBurner that generates an HTML snippet.

I really like the simplicity of this framework, and I hope it's the first of many steps from TypePad to open things up! I'm not sure why they have the API behind an application form, but it's probably just until all the kinks get worked out.
