I thought you'd all want to know that Amazon is STILL recommending that I buy the Da Vinci code. I think, at this point, I could go to amazon, buy a dozen apples, some underwear, and a barbie doll, and it would still recommend that, based on my purchases, I would definitely enjoy the da vinci code!
Here's how i think this plays out:
I continue to not buy the da vinci code. In about four months, my amazon home page changes to "Based on your purchases, Amazon INSISTS that you buy the da vinci code. we mean it.". i continue to not buy the da vinci code. Another 2 months pass; my amazon home page changes to "you can't buy anything else here until you buy the da vinci code. Click HERE to buy the da vinci code or click HERE to leave amazon.com"

My problem: not only is Amazon recommending I buy DaVinci Code, my girlfriend started recommending the same thing. I don't feel as comfortable lying to her. I also trust her more. So maybe I'll have to overcome the reticence caused by Amazon's constant nagging.
