Well, I was excited for the rest of the country to get to see Barak Obama deliver the keynote at the Democratic National Convention tonight, and he knocked it out of the park. There will certainly be "Oh-bama" type headlines in the press tonight and tomorrow. I think the democratic strategy of taking the high road and providing upbeat positive messages is brilliant and will pay off if they can stick to it. In what looked like it might shape up as the most ugly presidential battle ever, I found Obama's speech tonight particularly refreshing in its largely hopeful and embracing tone.
Meanwhile, switching subjects, would it be wrong if somebody just beat the hell out of Tucker Carlson at CNN? whining about ron reagan speaking at a convention so soon after his father's death, and isn't that a little bit morbid? Please. Would it have been morbid if he spoke at the republican convention? That pinhead with his Alex P. Keaton blue blazer and bowtie. I should have just left it on PBS where they reflect on the actual substance of the speeches instead of always looking for an oppotunity to throw out smug derisive comments. These radicalized point counter-point analysts drive me insane.
Too bad none of the networks aired prime time coverage tonight. They missed an awesome speech.
