Steve was telling me he tried Verizon's new Push-to-talk offering with amazing results...not as in "wow, that is so cool, that's amazing!", but as in "it's amazing you could launch such a third rate service". The deal is that, upon attempting to walkie-talkie somebody on your buddy list, it takes up to 5 to 7 seconds to make the connection. Attention Verizon customers: you already have this service, it's called a "phone call". Just because it doesn't ring when you make the call....i'm not sure that qualifies as a quantum leap innovation.
In other news, Verizon will launch an amazing new service next year in which all their customers can press a sequence of 10 numbers and contact ANYBODY! they don't even have to be on your buddy list! AMAZING!
